Account & Data

Yes. PackKit stores your inventory, trips, and settings in a secure cloud database. Your data is tied to your account, not your device, so it’s safe even if you lose or replace your phone.
Yes. Sign in with the same account on any device and your inventory, trips, and settings will be available. Changes sync automatically.
Your data stays in the cloud. Reinstall PackKit, sign in, and everything will be right where you left it.
Not from within the app currently. Email support@packkit.me and we’ll help you update it.
Email support@packkit.me with your request. We’ll permanently delete your account and all associated data.

Inventory

Deleting an item from your inventory also removes it from any trips it was added to. If you just want to remove an item from a specific trip without deleting it from your inventory, open that trip and remove it there instead.
The Liquid flag marks items subject to TSA liquid rules or shipping restrictions: shampoo, contact solution, sunscreen, and similar items. It shows as a visual indicator in your packing list so you remember to handle those items separately, such as in your quart-size TSA bag. It doesn’t affect packing logic or counts.
Items in the Packing Container category can act as containers in your packing list: suitcases, backpacks, packing cubes, tote bags, and so on. Add them to a trip and you can assign other items inside them, mirroring how you’d physically pack.
There’s no enforced limit. Add as many as you need.

Trips

A trip is a specific packing list for a specific journey, with a destination, dates, and a status that moves from Planning through to Archived. A template is a reusable snapshot of a packing list with no dates attached. Use templates to quickly start a new trip without rebuilding your list from scratch.
The Pack tab shows your active trip’s checklist. Allowing multiple active trips simultaneously would create ambiguity about which one you’re packing. If you need to switch, set a different trip to Active. The previous one moves back to Planning automatically.
No. All trip items come from your inventory. This keeps everything consistent. If you update an item’s name or icon in your inventory, it’s reflected everywhere.
Yes. Your containers (suitcase, backpack, etc.) live in your inventory like any other item. Add the same container to as many trips as you like.
The item is removed from the template. Future trips created from that template won’t include it.

Packing

PackKit requires an internet connection to load and sync your data. Offline support is not available in the current version.
Sharing is not supported yet. Each packing list is private to your account.
Make sure all items are checked, including those in nested containers. The progress bar must reach 100% to trigger the confetti celebration. Items in the Unassigned section count too.
Drag-and-drop is only available in Custom sort mode. If you’re in A→Z or Z→A mode, switch back to Custom using the sort button in the top-right of the Pack view.

Notifications

Check two things: make sure you set a Due Date on the trip, and make sure PackKit has permission to send notifications in your iPhone’s Settings app. Go to Settings > Notifications > PackKit and confirm notifications are enabled.
Edit the trip and clear the Due Date field, then save. The scheduled notification will be cancelled.

Getting Started

The sample trip and inventory items are there to help you explore the app. To remove them:
  • Sample trip: Open the Trips tab, tap on the sample trip, and select Delete.
  • Sample inventory items: Open the Inventory tab, swipe left on each item, and tap Delete.
Or just leave them. They won’t affect your real packing lists.
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password, enter your email, and follow the steps. See Changing Your Password for the full flow.
